About My Teaching Approach:
My lessons are designed to be engaging and effective, focusing on individual student needs and fostering a love of learning. Here's what you can expect:
Personalised Learning: I begin with a diagnostic assessment to understand each student's strengths and areas for growth. We then create a tailored learning plan together.
Interest-Based Lessons: Lessons are personalised to reflect students' interests and learning needs.
Ongoing Assessment and Feedback: Regular assessments inform my lesson planning, and I provide consistent feedback to both students and parents.
Structured Yet Flexible: Lessons follow a direct, explicit, sequential, and cumulative approach, while also remaining flexible to adapt to learners' needs and interests.
Progress and Celebration: I believe in the importance of progressing at one's own pace and celebrating successes to build confidence and enjoyment in learning.
Student Ownership: Students are encouraged and supported in setting goals and creating study plans, fostering ownership of their learning journey.
Curricular Support: Lessons reinforce and develop knowledge in curricular areas being taught at school.
I look forward to working with you and your child to achieve their learning goals!
Why I am a teacher
What truly drives me to teach is the joy of seeing a student's face light up when something finally makes sense. Those moments, when they overcome a struggle and everything connects, are incredibly powerful. I believe every student learns differently and may need personalized strategies to grasp new concepts, retain information, or develop new skills. As an educator, I am dedicated to finding those strategies and providing the support each of my students needs to reach those wonderful lightbulb moments.
